including skin health. But here&#8217;s the paradox: when you use a cocktail of drugs you have no idea about, it tends to have an inverse effect. You don&#8217;t get the result intended.</p><p>In clav&#8217;s case, he now has terrible skin health. natt&#333; &#8212; a traditional Japanese food made from fermented soybeans. It&#8217;s been consumed for centuries, but it wasn&#8217;t until modern clinical trials that we began to understand just how powerful it is.</p><p>In a <strong>randomized controlled trial</strong>, researchers compared nattokinase head-to-head against simvastatin &#8212; one of the most widely prescribed statins in the world.</p><p>Here&#8217;s the setup:</p><ul><li><p><strong>43 patients</strong> received nattokinase at <strong>6,000 FU/day</strong> for 26 weeks</p></li><li><p><strong>38 patients</strong> received simvastatin at <strong>20 mg/day</strong> for 26 weeks</p></li></ul><p>The result?</p><p><strong>Nattokinase was 3x more effective than simvastatin at reducing atherosclerotic plaque.</strong></p><p>Now &#8212; to be fair &#8212; statins were more effective at lowering LDL and ApoB particles. But for actual plaque clearance? Nattokinase ruled supreme.</p><p><em>That alone would have been enough to get my attention. But it didn&#8217;t stop there.</em></p><p></p>

<strong>neurovascular event</strong>, a coordinated event that acts like an orchestra</p><p>between your nervous system and your cardiovascular system, with hormones playing a supporting role at the end of the chain.</p><p>Testosterone&#8217;s role is upstream and modulatory. It maintains the sensitivity of the neural pathways, supports NOS expression, maintains the structural integrity of the erectile tissue itself, and &#8212; critically &#8212; sustains libido, which is the psychogenic driver of the whole cascade. Think of testosterone as maintaining the <em>infrastructure</em> and the <em>desire to initiate</em>, but it&#8217;s not the signal that actually fires the gun.</p><p>This is why men with adequate testosterone can still have erectile dysfunction (endothelial dysfunction, autonomic neuropathy, venous leak, psychogenic inhibition via sympathetic overdrive), and why men on TRT sometimes may still need a PDE5 inhibitor &#8212; the hormonal substrate is there, but the neurovascular execution is compromised</p><p>If I had to put rough numbers on it &#8212; and I know the Pareto crowd needs numbers &#8212; it looks something like this:</p><ul><li><p><strong>Nervous system: ~45%</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>Cardiovascular health: ~35%</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>Androgens and hormones: ~15%</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>Everything else (psychology, pelvic floor, structural): ~5%</strong></p></li></ul><p>Now, I&#8217;ll be the first to tell you these percentages are imperfect,But that&#8217;s the whole point. The human body doesn&#8217;t operate in neat categories, The moment you try to pigeon-hole this into a single variable, you&#8217;ve already missed a key point</p><p>But here&#8217;s why I used them anyway, most of you think like me are used to thinking in binaries. Testosterone high = good. Testosterone low = bad, that&#8217;s it</p><p>Which is your usually your entire mental model</p><p>But the same mental model kills your ability to actually solve this problem, and I want to help you the way someone else helped me before.</p><div><hr></div><p>Let me ask you something if that&#8217;s ok.</p><p>Do you know what happens when you overtrain? When you chronically overload your hypothalamus with stress?</p><p>Your LH gets smashed and testosterone crashes downstream.</p><p>Now, was the problem ever testosterone? the problem was your nervous system. HPA axis was overwhelmed, your hypothalamus dialed down GnRH output, and the whole hormonal cascade fell apart as a consequence of this.</p><p>Testosterone didn&#8217;t cause the problem, but just a <em>readout</em> of the problem.</p><p>This is what I mean when I say hormones are a cog in the wheel, not the wheel itself, morning wood does correlate with LH pulses</p><p>Those gonadotropin surges first thing in the morning are contributors But that pulse is the <em>end signal</em> of a healthy nervous system doing the job it&#8217;s supposed to. Without the upstream machinery functioning but no amount of exogenous testosterone gives you back that functioning.</p><div><hr></div><h2>The Nervous System: Your 45%</h2><p>This is where it starts, parasympathetic activation also known as your rest-and-digest state, is what initiates an erection. Nitric oxide gets released from nerve endings in the corpus cavernosum, smooth muscle relaxes, blood flows in.</p><p>If your nervous system is systematically fried for example if you&#8217;re living in a sympathetic-dominant state from tech overload, chronic stress, poor sleep, overstimulation, overtraining</p><p>How do you expect this process to initiate itself properly. </p><p>It doesn&#8217;t matter what your testosterone is. how clean your diet is</p><p>If the signal isn't firing strong enough nothing WILL happen</p><p>This is why the guy who&#8217;s anxious, overworked, under-slept, and running on caffeine can have perfect bloodwork but still can&#8217;t perform</p><p><em>Cardiovascular Health: Your 35%</em></p><p>An erection is a hydraulic event</p><p>Which means your erection quality is a direct reflection of your vascular health endothelial function + your arterial compliance. Blood pressure regulation and the ability of your blood vessels to dilate on command and maintain that dilation.</p><p>This is not just abstract</p><p>If the plumbing is degraded and you have stiff arteries, poor nitric oxide production, chronic inflammation in the endothelium &#8212; (Check your HS-CRP)</p><p>You&#8217;re trying to inflate tires with leaky pumps</p><p>In fact, erectile dysfunction is one of the earliest clinical markers of cardiovascular disease. Your penile arteries are smaller than your coronary arteries And They usually show damage first</p><p>If you&#8217;re losing erection quality fast, your body is telling you something about your vascular system years before it can shows up on a cardiac stress test.</p><div><hr></div><h2>So What Can you actually Do About It?</h2><p>The fist step is to stop thinking in binaries and start thinking in layers.</p><p>Use a systematic layered approach and address each component individually first starting with the one that gives you the most diagnostic information upfront, <em>yo<strong>ur cardiovascular health.</strong></em></p><p>Here&#8217;s where I need you to actually engage with this. Answer these questions honestly:</p><p><strong>What&#8217;s your is morning blood pressure?</strong> Are you measuring it? Most  And if you are measuring it, are you sitting high first thing in the morning? There&#8217;s a well-documented nocturnal surge phenomenon, blood pressure naturally spikes in the early morning hours. If you&#8217;re waking up at 140/90, this is telling you something critical about your vascular state.</p><p><strong>Are you managing your electrolytes?</strong> Sodium, potassium, magnesium &#8212; blood pressure and vascular tone</p><p>If you&#8217;re not dialing these in, you&#8217;re leaving one of your biggest levers untouched.</p><p><strong>Are you using the sauna regularly?</strong> Heat exposure is one of the most potent tools for improving endothelial function and nitric oxide production </p><p><strong>What does your cardio look like?</strong> Don't go with the basic &#8220;do you do cardio&#8221; what&#8217;s the weekly volume, what&#8217;s the intensity distribution, and can you sustain it without accumulating fatigue? Because if your cardio program is burying you, you&#8217;re back to the stress problem, and now you&#8217;re degrading the very system you&#8217;re trying to build.</p><p><strong>Can you manage fatigue?</strong> This is a meta-question. Are you recovering from your training, your work, your life? Or are you running a chronic deficit? Because a chronic deficit compresses everything, nervous system function, vascular health, hormonal output, </p><p><strong>What&#8217;s your calorie input?</strong></p><p>Are you in maintenance calories? Calorie deficit? system that&#8217;ll finally change your life.</p><p>But it gets worse my friend.</p><p>You&#8217;re not just downloading a new app, you&#8217;re migrating your entire knowledge base</p><p>Want to try five different systems in the same year?</p><p>That&#8217;s 200+ hours of setup time SIR.</p><p>Do you really want to actually master one system and build compound knowledge?</p><p>Or add another just year of nothing on top.</p><p>Buy their system, use their templates and you&#8217;re golden balls, their framework works for them so it must work for you.</p><p>But if you&#8217;re an independent thinker trying to build your own system or someone who just wants to capture thoughts without the overhead?</p><p>The cruel irony is that most productivity advice is just repackaged common sense.</p><p>Tiago Forte courses, productivity guru content and &#8220;revolutionary&#8221; frameworks ALL created this.</p><p>Then they sell it back to you as a transformation.</p><p>Fun fact it was actually people like David Allen who started this whole &#8220;system will save you&#8221; industrial complex.</p><p>Getting Things Done.</p><p>(Charging people to learn principles they could&#8217;ve easily figured out themselves.)</p><p>For reference, there are over 10,000 productivity apps on the market.</p><p>No matter how much time you have, no one wants to waste another weekend setting up a new system.</p><p>But why does picking ONE system and sticking with it matter you might be asking?</p><p>Well most people download the app and never look anywhere beyond the initial setup.</p><p>Failing to recognize that the valuable progress you make comes from consistent use, accumulated notes over time, and having to actually DO THE WORK yourself.</p><p>Hence why it&#8217;s so important to not just chase shiny new productivity tools.</p><p>Even though we all do it sometimes when we&#8217;re bored.</p><p>(Grass is always greener)</p><p><em><strong>Here&#8217;s the pattern:</strong></em></p><p>Warren Buffett doesn&#8217;t constantly look at what Soros and other investors are doing.</p><p>He develops his own frameworks and sticks with his own decisions.</p><p>Does he optimize every 3 months when a new investment strategy drops?</p><p>No.</p><p>He masters HIS game.</p><p><strong>The actual problem isn&#8217;t the tools.</strong></p><p>It&#8217;s the inability to be present with what you already have.</p><p>You believe the solution is external, new app equals new you, but the issue is commitment not As a right-hand health advisor, I act as a counterbalance. I&#8217;m not there to add more drive</p><p>I&#8217;m there to set them right when the system is heading for a wall. Because the truth is, you can do both. You can perform at a high level and stay sharp long-term, but only if you stop brute-forcing stimulation and start leveraging the right things at the right time.</p><p>Here&#8217;s the playbook I use to help them avoid burnout and play the long game.</p><h2>1. Diagnose the Failure Mode: Mapping Your Energy, Not Just Your Time</h2><p>Before we can fix the system, we need to understand where it&#8217;s broken. I map out my client&#8217;s entire day, from morning to evening, asking for every little detail. We&#8217;re not just looking at their schedule; we&#8217;re looking at their energy expenditure. We map their week by energy, not by time.</p><p>This diagnostic process helps us identify the hidden stressors and recovery gaps that lead to burnout. We&#8217;re looking for the points where output is being brute-forced instead of supported. We identify the stimulant load how much caffeine, nicotine, and other stimulants are being used to power through the day. We calculate the sleep debt accumulating over the week. We assess decision density how many high-stakes decisions are being crammed into short windows. And we find the recovery gaps where rest is being skipped entirely.</p><h2>2. Replace Stimulation with Circulation: Fueling the System, Not Forcing It</h2><p>Once we&#8217;ve diagnosed the failure mode, we can start to rebuild the system. The goal is to replace chronic stimulation with sustainable sources of energy. We&#8217;re not just treating the symptoms of fatigue; we&#8217;re addressing the root cause.</p><p>My principle is that cognition tracks perfusion. In other words, a well-nourished brain with good blood flow will outperform a brain that&#8217;s being propped up by stimulants. We also use saunas when sleep-deprived to help with recovery.</p><p>We ditch the addictions first reducing chronic nicotine and caffeine and replacing them with a protein-rich breakfast to stabilize energy levels throughout the day. We support the adrenals by adding methylation factors like methylfolate and Vitamin C, especially in cases of adrenal fatigue. And we prioritize blood flow by incorporating movement micro-doses throughout the day, breathwork, walking treadmill, Hydration and electrolytes to round out the strategy.</p><h2>3. Control Your Inputs: Using Stimulants as Tools, Not Defaults</h2><p>This isn&#8217;t about eliminating stimulants entirely</p><p> It&#8217;s about using them strategically. Stimulants become tools, not defaults. We use them in narrow windows tied to output-critical work, and we have a strict cutoff time to prevent them from interfering with sleep.</p>
