nt people I’ve met at solving problems in life have all shared a common trait.

It wasn’t until a few years ago that I became fully aware of what this particular trait actually was.

I first seen this in my grandfather, then in those who worked in medicine/clinicians, engineers and within a few functional medicine practioniers (at least the good ones)

They could all walk into problems with very little information the build a working hypothesis that rewarded them with the most unusual ability to figure things out and evidently solve the puzzle…

And this is because they suspended ‘knowing’ and instead of simply believing that they knew the answer immediately or brought their prejudices/dogma into each equation

Instead they asked themselves.

  1. What do we actually know?

  2. What don’t we know?

  3. What could actually explain this?

  4. What are the competing explanations?

Then most importantly:

What would else would I need to see to change my mind?

I also noticed the emotional pattern that they weren’t trying to be right for right-sake

But they were trying to simply trying to become LESS wrong and actually solve the root of the problem.
